SAN DIEGO, CA and MCLEAN, VA -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) has signed an agreement to acquire Applied Marine Technology Inc., a Virginia-based government contractor in the Homeland Security and national defense markets. Financial terms were not disclosed. AMTI employs over 500 people supporting government and private sector customers. SAIC expects to integrate AMTI with its Intelligence and Security group. The transaction is scheduled to close in December, 2006, after expiration of the customary waiting periods.
